Update & Announcement
So as you may have noticed, I decided to pull in all the major essays from my website and put them here on the blog – either as posts (Notes on the Use of Entheogens, Will Spiritwork Destroy Your Life, The Purpose of Taboos, One World Rides Another: Pathwalking and Horsing), or in several new pages (Oracles, which describes my oracular work and has links to request an oracle and make a donation, as well as the subpages Oracles FAQ and Consulting Trophonios, and also my Poetry and a Resources page which is a sorted list of books, websites, and blog posts for anyone interested in the main topics I discuss here).
I am now re-directing A Forest Door to this blog and keeping all future information here. It just makes more sense this way, since I was rarely adding anything to the website, instead focusing all new content on the blog. Now it’s all in one place. You can get to the new pages from the sidebar.
This is all preparation, however, for a bigger project I’m ready to announce – I will be turning this blog into a book! I have been working on collecting all the appropriate posts (and pieces from the website), revising them and creating a cohesive body of work – basically in the format of an essay collection. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had actually written a book’s worth of material and wanted to have it all in one place, and accessible beyond a computer (I will always be in love with printed, physical books). Am hoping, of course, that some of you will find it to be a useful resource as well.
The title will be Dwelling on the Threshold, and I expect it to be ready sometime in the next couple months. I still have a few pieces I want to write before it’s finished, and it will depend somewhat on how much available time I have for such things (which I can never be sure of), but stay tuned for the publication announcement.

Oh how wonderfully exciting! Best of luck, can’t wait to see the finished product.
Wonderful! I too love the printed & bound written word. I am looking forward to it. Are you self-publishing?
Yes, I’m publishing through Createspace like I did with my first book, Kharis. I like the amount of control it gives me.
So, so excited about the book!
Congratulations and best of luck on your endeavor! Another book added to my wishlist!
I’ve never left a comment here before, but I loved your first book and I deeply appreciate your insights and the spiritual journey/work you discuss here on this blog. Thank you so much for the work you do and your willingness to share both your experiences and resources with your readers. Congratulations on the upcoming new book! Looking forward to it! I, too, will always cherish the printed page and I know your next volume will be a welcome addition to my spiritual library.
Thank you so much for your kind words, they definitely help make all this work worthwhile!
Great to hear about it, and can’t wait to see it!
Thank you for the resource page. I’ve been wanting to read that Nympholepsy article for a long time–and now I can.
Yes, I’ve had all those articles up on my website for ages, but I think most people never saw them. This way they’re a bit more prominent.
I can miss things in front of my nose (so my partner tells me).
I look forward to reading your new book too!
I love your writing and I’m so excited about your upcoming book. That’s wonderful news – congratulations! You inspire me.
Aw, thank you.
I’ll be glad to discover this new project since I enjoy your writing AND your way of thought
I can’t wait to read the book!

[...] As I mentioned here, I’m in the process of collecting all the relevant essays I’ve posted on this blog over the past couple years, and making them into a book. Happy to say that I am now almost done, and expect to have it published by May Day! I’ve been hard at work selecting, revising, editing, re-ordering, and designing. It’s tricky to go from blog to book in some ways, as far as the tone and cohesiveness, but I think I’ve ended up with something worth having on your shelf – especially if you’re like me, and would prefer a bound and printed object to the ephemeral words on a screen. I may not always keep this blog and its contents readily available online, but the book can be yours forever. [...]
