Blood
I have a complicated relationship with Dionysos. It hurts the most when He is gentle. I want Him to push me past my limits – even though that hurts, too. This song could be my love song to Him, strange as it may seem.
I hate you for the sacrifices you made for me
I hate you for every time you ever bled for me
I hate you for the way you smile when you look at me
I hate you for never taking control of me
I hate you for always saving me from myself
I hate you for always choosing me and not someone else
I hate you for always pulling me back from the edge
I hate you for every kind word you ever said
I love you for everything you ever took from me
I love the way you dominate and you violate me
I love you for every time you gave up on me
I love you for the way you look when you lie to me
I love you for never believing in what I say
I love you for never once giving me my way
I love you for never delivering me from pain
I love you for always driving me insane

I think I can understand these feelings. Sometimes I have them too (for another deity). But for me… they are something I want to let go.
[...] has posted an amazing video. This is definitely going on my Ariadne [...]
This hits so many notes of what I often feel for Odin….
Not at all surprised by that.
This rings so very, very true.
I have just discovered your blog, and there are a thousand things I want to say to you, much of it in thanks.
In the meantime, I was wondering if you’d heard this song by Dar Williams; she’s written about Hermes, and it’s titled, “You Will Ride With Me Tonight”.
I hadn’t heard it before, thank you, it’s very beautiful.
I have been wanting to thank you for a couple of posts that you have had on here in the past, but because of their nature, and me not wanting to… divulge something very personal about myself, I don’t particularly want to point them out in specific here.
I understand, I’m just glad my writings have been helpful!
Do you ever give out your email, or is there a “hide” feature here?
My email is totally public – it’s dver at winterscapes dot com. Just be warned that I’m not always prompt with replies, but I do my best.
Thank you! I’ll soon email you… if I can get up the courage.
Your voice speaks volumes about Dionysus. Sometimes He is the Hidden One, other times the bringer of gifts. He sets us free, but we need his direction at times. Such is a love story between this God who wounds then kisses. He is all things, and worth everything breath we take.
